NHS Resolution is pleased to have been awarded the Disability Confident Leader, level 3 award. This is the highest level of accreditation on the Government’s Disability Confident scheme.
The award recognises organisations who demonstrate a commitment to supporting disabled people into work through having their own embedded practices to support staff and ensure that recruitment processes are fair and effective for people with disabilities.
Scheme Assessor Grant Neems (Stakeholder Engagement Director at Ingeus) presented the organisation’s certificate on Tuesday 8 August.
The award not only showcases effective internal and external collaboration to meet the requirements but also aligns closely with NHS Resolution’s People Strategy, reflecting a significant achievement for the organisation.
NHS Resolution was particularly praised for:
- Its participation in the sunflower scheme which is a clear indication of its commitment to building an inclusive culture.
- Developing recruitment and selection policies that ensure a more equitable and positive recruitment process.
- Ensuring the language used in job adverts meets the disability confident standard to avoid disadvantaging prospective applicants.
NHS Resolution is committed to continuing to improve further and fostering disability awareness throughout the organisation and amongst partners in the health sector.
This award is really important to our organisation, not for the badge but for what it represents in terms of the sustained work undertaken right across the organisation to make a genuine and positive difference to our workforce and how we deliver our business.
Helen Vernon, CEO (NHS Resolution)
NHS Resolution provided one of the best self-assessments that I’ve seen. There was a lot of work that went in, but what I saw was a true shift in culture, systems and processes within the organisation to be disability confident. You should be very proud because you are enabling people with disabilities to feel comfortable and confident in applying for work with your organisation.
