Information about changes to Primary Care Appeals regarding COVID-19
With contingency arrangements in place, our Primary Care Appeals service is able to continue to process and determine appeals and disputes.
With effect from 16 September 2020, the Appeals service resumed appeal hearings which are conducted via MS Teams. Regrettably, as a result of the latest lockdown arrangements, it has been necessary to pause site visits where it is necessary for them to be undertaken prior to oral hearings. This will in turn affect the timing of virtual hearings but we are committed to resuming site visits as soon as it is safe and appropriate to do so.
We are mindful of the pressures faced by those both commissioning and delivering primary care services at this time and as such, where we have the power to extend time limits, we will consider any requests in a way which is fair to all parties to a dispute.

This method is of paramount importance for any notifications issued by NHS England under the Performers Lists Regulations and by the Health Boards for Northern Ireland and Wales under equivalent Regulations.
