About this event

This event is being organised by one of our legal panel firms, Kennedys.

Kennedys are delighted to be holding our claims and learning forum in Birmingham on Wednesday 4 December 2019.

Guest speakers:

Dr Freya Levy, Consultant at Stepping Hill Hospital currently seconded to NHS Resolution as a Clinical Fellow.

Dr Freya Levy is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport and a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. Freya is currently undertaking a year-long secondment to NHS Resolution as a Clinical Fellow.

Dr Levy has been a Consultant at Stepping Hill Hospital for the last 13 years, and has provided clinical leadership and supervision within the multidisciplinary team, and held departmental lead roles in Audit, Quality and Safety and Mortality Review.

In 2017/18 the greatest number of claims received across all clinical negligence schemes relate to Emergency Medicine. Freya joined the Safety and Learning team at NHS Resolution to examine a set of these claims in detail and identify themes to improve care and reduce harm in this area.
