Hempsons are delighted to be joined by Dr Kevin Stewart, Medical Director of The Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB).
Funded by the Department of Health and Social Care and hosted by NHS England and NHS Improvement, HSIB conducts independent investigations of patient safety concerns in NHS-funded care across England, without attributing blame or liability.
Its role in NHS hospital investigations is increasing and it now conducts all investigations into maternity incidents which meet the criteria for the Each Baby Counts programme.
Dr Stewart will provide insight into the organisation and practical guidance to NHS Trusts and he will set out the direction of travel for HSIB.
We anticipate that this webinar will be of particular interest to NHS directors who are responsible for clinical governance, patient safety and investigations, legal services managers, Serious Incident investigators, risk and patient safety managers, obstetricians and midwifery leads.
