The following information was requested:
Firstly, I would like to request data relating to claims made in the specialty of urology from financial years 2018/2019 up until 2023. In relation to urology, I would like to specifically request information on (i) the number of claims made between financial years 2018/2019 till 2023, (ii) whether these claims were successful or not, (iii) if they were successful, the costs in damages paid out, and (iv) the reasons/causes for the claims.
Secondly, I would like to request data relating to claims made in the specialties of general surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, otolaryngology/ENT, vascular surgery, orthopaedic surgery, paediatric surgery, plastic surgery, cardiac/thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, oral & maxillofacial surgery and ophthalmology. With regards to the above listed specialties, I would like to specifically request information (stratified by specialty) on (i) the number of claims made between financial years 1996/97 till now, (ii) whether these claims were successful or not, (iii) if they were successful, the costs in damages paid out, and (iv) the reasons/causes for the claims.
