I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Scope of request
Please provide data on clinical negligence claims relating to maternity services at Oxford University Hospitals Trust and University Hospitals Sussex, covering EACH of the last ten completed financial years.
Data requested
For each of the financial years listed above, please provide the following information:
Total number of completed claims each year.
Total damages paid (including damages and claimant legal costs)
Further broken down by the primary injury category, as recorded by NHS Resolution, to include:
Stillbirth
Neonatal death
Maternal death
Brain injury
Other physical injury
Where claims fall into more than one category, please allocate them according to NHS Resolution’s standard primary injury classification.
Format
Please if possible provide the information in an electronic spreadsheet format (Excel .xlsx or CSV), with:
One row per trust per financial year per injury category, and
Clear column headings (e.g. financial year, trust name, injury category, total paid).
If any of the requested information is not held, please specify which elements are unavailable and why.
