The following information was requested:
I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act regarding clinical claims and incidents received by NHS Resolution where the Specialty is ‘Gastroenterology’.
Specifically, I request the following:
1. Number of Clinical Claims and Incidents received where the Specialty is ‘Gastroenterology’ (for gastrointestinal issues that may be misdiagnosed as bowel cancer), split by Trust and primary injury.
2. Number and cost of Clinical Claims Closed or Settled with damages paid, where the Specialty is ‘Gastroenterology’ (for gastrointestinal issues misdiagnosed as bowel cancer), split by Trust, primary injury, and primary cause.
Please ensure this includes details on claims related to misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, or failure to diagnose bowel cancer.
Please provide data for the financial years 2021/2022, 2022/23 and 2023/24. Please can I request that the data is broken down by financial year and not combined for all requested years.
