Response to harm - for staff

Treating staff fairly when things go wrong allows staff be open about their mistakes, feel confident to speak up, without fear of being blamed.

A just and learning culture in healthcare is the balance of fairness, justice, learning – and taking responsibility for actions. It is not about seeking to blame the individuals involved when care in goes wrong. It is also not about an absence of responsibility and accountability. The last four years have seen 317 claims notified to NHS Resolution worth more than £27 million in relation to staff stress and bullying.

This module contains 3 learning resources.
