Held on 11 June 2026, this webinar was the culmination of work on learning from claims relating to VTE (venous thromboembolism) in pregnancy. Advisory groups were included as part of the process, whose members were instrumental and provided some excellent speakers.
The webinar takes us on a journey through research, lived experience, early pregnancy and abortion care, and the maternal care bundle through to learning from claims. It ended in a discussion session with knowledgeable speakers who are eminent in their field, and invested in improving VTE recognition, diagnosis and care for women who develop VTE in pregnancy or the postpartum period.
It brings together a wide range of researchers, obstetricians, specialist nurses and midwives alongside general practice, emergency department and abortion care professionals to share their knowledge and debate some of the challenges in this area.
