Alan Gallagher recently joined the Safety and Learning team on a 12 month secondment undertaking the role of a Safety and Learning Lead in non-clinical practice. Whilst on secondment, he continues to work in his substantive role as Head of Risk and Regulatory Services for North East Ambulance Service (NEAS). During his secondment Alan will be undertaking a thematic review of work related violence claims as well as contributing to the Safety and Learning team, liaising with other NHS Resolution teams and external stakeholders/partners.
Alan is a graduate of the University of Portsmouth with a BSc (Hons) in Risk and Security Management and University of Birmingham with a MSc in Healthcare Leadership. Alan is an Accredited Security Management Specialist (ASMS) with extensive experience of dealing with work related violence. Alan has worked in the NHS for over 13 years, having previously worked at a senior level within the private sector. Alan is committed to support stakeholders improve the safety and experience of service users and staff, whilst focusing on embedding robust safety cultures. Alan’s approach is very much holistic and he strives to improve organisational abilities to learn and innovate.
