Profile

Bev Hunt joined NHS Resolution in April 2018 as Safety and Learning Lead for the North of England. She is passionate about improving patient safety through lessons learnt and sharing information.

Qualifying as a Registered General Nurse in 1995, Bev worked on an acute medical ward at Wigan Royal Albert Edward Infirmary for two years. She then completed midwifery training and practiced as a Midwife for 17 years, predominantly as a Delivery Suite Coordinator, at Whiston Hospital in Merseyside.

As Deputy Head of Quality in the Quality Department at Whiston Hospital, Bev had responsibility for investigating serious incidents and reviewing complex complaints which stimulated her appetite for improving patient safety and sharing learning effectively. This experience prompted a shift in her career to roles with a greater strategic focus.

Prior to her appointment at NHS Resolution, Bev led on the management of serious incidents across Manchester City as the Clinical Quality Manager at Manchester Health and Care Commissioning.

Career highlights include being awarded a Master’s Degree in Professional Studies at Chester University with distinction. Currently she is applying the knowledge and skills developed during her studies to design and deliver a national safety and learning event for ambulance staff, and to create a national clinical commissioning group engagement strategy.
