Nick joined NHS Resolution in August 2015 and is the Senior Programme Lead: Maternity Schemes Evaluation and Implementation. He graduated with a BSc in Biomedical Science and started work in the field of pharmacovigilance before completing a Master’s in Science Communication at Imperial College. He undertook brief administrative roles at an NHS Trust level before gaining specialist knowledge of health, legal and local government sectors working for various arm’s length bodies. His 30-year career history has included broad policy and communications roles at the National Patient Safety Agency, Audit Commission and NHS Resolution. Over half of which has been spent working for the NHS in the field of patient safety and service improvement.

Recently joining the Safety and Learning directorate, his current post as will see him deliver the evaluations of two NHS Resolution workstreams: the Maternity Incentive Scheme and the Early Notification Scheme, as well as develop plans to implement emerging recommendations. In his previous role as Head of Corporate Communications he oversaw the press office, and teams delivering internal/digital communications, and communications/policy support to the Safety and Learning directorate. He is passionate about tackling health and social care issues which, by their very nature, are often complex, sensitive and emotive.

He graduated from the Nye Bevan Programme with an NHS Leadership Academy Award in Executive Healthcare Leadership in December 2021 and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, achieving Chartered status in 2023.
