The following information was requested:
I am writing under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I would like to request the following
information regarding maternity services and associated clinical negligence claims in England
for the period 1 January 2019 to present.
More specifically:
1. The total number of clinical negligence claims related to maternity services, broken down by
type (maternal deaths, stillbirths, birth injuries) and by NHS Trust.
2. The total amount paid in compensation and legal costs for these claims, broken down by year
and NHS Trust.
I prefer to receive documents in electronic format (PDF or Excel) where possible.
If my request is denied in whole or in part, please justify all exemptions by reference to the Act.
