The following information was requested:
The annual accounts of University Hospital Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust for the year ended 31 March 2024, indicate that NHS Resolution has included a £ 340.7 million provision in its accounts (2022/23) in respect of alleged clinical negligence liabilities of the Trust.
With regard to this provision of £ 340.7 million can you please provide for me:
1. Each of the years in which the alleged claims arose
2. The expected magnitude of each of those alleged claims and
3. The clinical disciplines to which each of the alleged claims relate.

Obstetrics or Neurosurgery claims for named Trusts (FOI_6771)
The following information was requested:
Neurosurgical and Obstetric departments in respect of clinical negligence claims both in terms of the number of claims and payments per year. We would therefore be grateful if you could benchmark UHCW’s Neurosurgical department for the years 2021 to 2024 against the number of clinical negligence claims and annual compensation payouts for the following Neurosurgical departments. We appreciate that you are not in a position to reveal the specific identities of the bench marked Trusts. They will have to be greyed out but knowing the sample group UHCW is being bench marked against does provide UHCW with some understanding of their claims history.
We also request a similar bench marking exercise in respect of Obstetrics for the period 2021 to 2024.

The previous table also provided the information by average number of years. In your updated version of the table, could you please provide this information by average number of days.

The following information was requested:
I would like to know how many complaints have been made for the years 2024 (year to date), 2023 and 2022 where AI is referenced. I would like to know the department and whether the claim was successful and how much compensation was paid.
I anticipate that AI or Artificial Intelligence is not a recorded term, if this is the case can a key word search be done on these terms, please.
