Alistair joined NHS Resolution in May 2025 as Senior Medical Advisor, contributing to the Safety and Learning team with a focus on secondary care, particularly within the Urgent and Emergency Care system. A Consultant in Emergency Medicine with over 20 years of clinical experience, he has worked across a wide range of healthcare settings—from small community hospitals to large, tertiary specialist teaching institutions.
Throughout his career, Alistair has cultivated a keen interest in quality improvement, healthcare management, Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR), and major trauma. His professional journey spans frontline clinical practice, pre-hospital care, systems-level healthcare management, and national advisory roles. He brings a depth of insight informed by decades in busy emergency departments, combined with a dedicated focus on patient safety, service development, and leadership within urgent care.
Alistair is also an Associate Medical Director of the Northwest Ambulance Service.
