Michelle Stafford is the interim Safety and Learning Lead for the South region, after joining NHS Resolution in 2020 as an Associate Safety and Learning Lead.

She graduated in 1998 with a BSc (Hons) in Podiatric Medicine. She also holds a Master’s in Management and a Diploma in Diabetes Management in Primary Care. Her podiatry career has predominantly been within diabetes and vascular lower limb care. She has published research papers and articles and has presented her work at national and international conferences.

She started her career in East Kent, and has worked at King’s College Hospital and most recently at East Surrey Hospital. She has also held the positions of Diabetes Network Manager for East Kent, and South East Clinical Network Lead for Diabetes Foot (NHS England and Improvement), implementing national guidance and providing regional leadership in delivering best practice in patient care.

Michelle has experience in delivering service improvements to ensure the safety and quality of patient care. Within this role she is passionate about supporting NHS staff to learn from claims and improve the safety of patient care.
