Samantha joined NHS Resolution as an Associate Safety and Learning Lead for London in December 2021. She is passionate about improving staff and patient experience through multidisciplinary networks, sharing information, learning and education.
Qualifying from City University as a Registered Sick Children’s nurse in 2008, Samantha started her nursing career in the Children’s Emergency Department at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust, before moving to Paediatric Intensive Care at King’s College Hospital. Samantha has worked across various London Trusts, in addition to providing care in the community care and private sector.
She holds a BSc (Hons) in Health Visiting, a MSc in Public Policy and Management and a Post Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Improvement for Health Services.
Prior to this role, Samantha worked as a Divisional Clinical Governance Facilitator at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust with responsibility for investigating complaints and serious incidents across acute medicine, ED, community and ambulatory care.
Career highlights include receiving awards for gaining cultural insights to improve the implementation of National Early Warning Tools and completing the Junior Doctor Fellowship and Root Cause Analysis Fellowship.
Samantha is committed to transparency in health care and supporting health care professionals to identify and implement quality improvements to improve patient safety. She has a special interest in organisational culture, compassionate leadership and system thinking and is a strong advocate for improving the quality of care of vulnerable patients and families, pain management and discharge planning.
