The following information was requested:

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide data regarding personal injury and clinical negligence claims closed against the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust for the last 5 financial years (up to the most recently completed financial year).

Please break the figures down by financial year into a table with the following columns:
1. Total number of claims closed.
2. Number of claims settled out of court where damages were paid.
3. Number of claims settled at court trial where damages were paid.
4. Number of claims made by employees and patients separately

Please provide this data in a standard digital format, such as an Excel workbook or a PDF.

Claims relating to plastic and orthopaedic surgery_FOI_7950

Service: Claims Management Speciality: Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery

The following information was requested:

This request is a follow up to FOI_7861_claims-relating-to-plastic-and-orthopaedic-surgery.pdf

Thank you so much for sharing this data with me – I am super grateful!

I promise it is my last request and if it can be possible, I would really appreciate it. I wondered whether it would be possible to provide the same tables separately for Orthopaedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery, rather than as a combined dataset.

Specifically, I would be grateful if the information already provided could be presented separately for:

Orthopaedic Surgery
Plastic Surgery

across the same time period (2006/07–2024/25) and using the same breakdowns by claim numbers, causes, injuries and costs.

Early Notification compensation – Follow up (FOI_7944)

The following information was requested:

Follow up to FOI_7819

You highlight that in 176 cases financial compensation was provided, including interim payments. Do you know how many of these 176 cases (if any) were fatal cases, i.e. involved the death of a baby?

[On the 16 June, you requested]

Further to the above, would you also be able to let me know the breakdown of the £163,835,930 paid in compensation, i.e. how much of this was interim payments vs how much was for a final settlement?

[On the 18 June, you requested]

I am after the breakdown of the £163,835,930 paid in compensation by:
• The total paid to families who have received a final settlement (including any previous interim payments they have received)
• The total paid to families who have only received interim payments so far (i.e. not yet received a final settlement)

[On the 18 June, you requested]

I just had quick question about the following:
In respect of the cases identified at Question 7, the total amount of compensation paid is £163,835,930. This figure represents compensation paid up to 31 March 2026, including PPO settlements made up to that date, but excluding the capitalised value of any future PPO settlements.

I just wanted to double check that this should say 31 March 2026, rather than 31 March 2025.
