The following information was requested:
PART 1a) How many clinical negligence claims where the injury was ‘fatality’ were paid out in the 2021/22 financial year? b) How many clinical negligence claims where the injury was ‘fatality’ have been paid out in the 2022/23 financial year to date?
PART 2a) How many periodical payments orders (PPOs) were agreed where the injury was ‘fatality’ from 2015/2016 to the current 2022/23 financial year, broken down by financial year?
PART 3a) What was the total amount of damages paid in relation to the claims in PART 1 a)?b) What is the total amount of damages paid in relation to the claims in PART 1 b)?
PART 4For the financial year 2021/22, please provide a breakdown of the cause of death, where a claim has been made of negligence involving the death and a payout was made to the claimant.
PART 5 In 2021/22 which ten NHS Trusts have had the most number of claims made against them for fatality where a payout has been made? For each of these ten trusts please provide (a) the name of the trust, (b) the number of fatality claims paid out and (c) the total value of the damages paid out in those claims.
For all except Part 2, I understand this information may exclude PPOs.

Treatments in non NHS hospitals (FOI_5834)
Just came across some data in one of your FOIs. It is FOI_5617 and it relates to compensation for patients treated in non-NHS hospitals and treatment centres in 2019-20 and 2021/22.
I’ve attached the PDF.
(1) I wondered if you could get me the same data in this FOI but for the 2018-19 and current 2022-23 periods?
(2) Also I don’t know if it’s possible but can NHS Resolution say what it has paid out in terms of the surgeon Ian Paterson as I understand NHS R contributed to the claims pot for NHS patients?

The following information was requested:
Visiting your website I found out about your activities and services, so that claims management is the reason for my writing to you.

Sexual Abuse per Trust (FOI_5820)
The following information was requested:
Follow up to FOI_5730:
Thank you very much for providing data on damages and costs paid out for sexual harm claims in the NHS.
We have also been in touch with individual trusts, some of whom have given us their figures.
We intend to add those figures to the total you have supplied.
In order to avoid double counting, would it be possible to check whether your dataset contains figures supplied by any of the NHS Trusts listed below [please, refer to the atached PDF]? If so, please can you let me know which ones?
