The Safety and Learning Team hosted the South Region Members Networking Forum on Tuesday 23rd September 2025 chaired by Ingrid Henderson Associate Safety & Learning Lead for South.
Presentations and Speakers
- Caroline Latham-Parker, NHS Resolution Safety and Learning Lead for the South, delivered an overview focusing on lessons learnt from consent claims.
- Rob Wilson of Clyde & Co and Jennifer Harris of Capsticks gave a presentation on the topic of consent and the law, highlighting how to avoid common pitfalls in clinical practice.
- Mark Coleman, General and Colorectal Surgeon at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, shared his expertise and experiences regarding consent, particularly in the context of general and colorectal surgery.
- Rineke Schram, Lead Assessment and Remediation Adviser at NHS Resolution, discussed the process of responding to consent concerns from an advisory perspective.
The Q&A and was hosted by Ed Glasgow of Kennedys LLP before moving into smaller breakout groups focusing on discussion on the presentations provided.
