Our training courses aim to provide healthcare organisations with the knowledge and skills to identify and manage performance concerns locally. They also provide delegates the opportunity to share good practice and network with colleagues.

Resolving performance concerns: An overview

This one day training course is designed specifically for anyone who deals first hand with performance concerns at any level within any healthcare organisations or has an interest in this area.

Case investigator (secondary care)

This two day training course is designed specifically for anyone who undertakes the case investigator role in investigations about practitioners, which may emerge from the processes underpinning revalidation or from concerns raised about performance.

Case management (secondary care)

This two-day course is designed for anyone undertaking the case manager role or providing case management support in cases involving employed or contracted practitioners which are dealt with under MHPS or your locally negotiated policy.

It focuses on managing investigations into practitioners, whether these arise from the processes underpinning revalidation or from concerns about performance.

Understanding and using MHPS (Maintaining High Professional Standards) effectively

This half day training course is designed specifically for senior clinical or managerial staff with management responsibilities in secondary care, including medical directors, clinical directors, clinical leads, consultants and clinical tutors. This workshop is suitable those that work within England and Northern Ireland

Compassionate Conversations programme

The Compassionate Conversations programme is an evidence-based, facilitated workshop designed to build confidence and capability in hosting honest and productive conversations about practitioner performance, including addressing challenging topics.

Board Level Assurance for Resolving Performance Concerns

The Board Level Assurance for Resolving Performance Concerns workshop has been developed by NHS Resolution to support Boards in meeting their responsibilities under the Maintaining High Professional Standards in the Modern NHS (MHPS) framework. This session is adaptable for other jurisdictions.
