Compiled by Hempsons on our behalf, ‘Human Rights update’ is a quarterly update for Human Rights Act leads and others in our Member organisations, who use and apply human rights in their day to day work. The aim is to alert you to key cases, either in the English courts or in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, which are of relevance to the NHS.
There have been many interesting cases over recent months, and this edition covers a wide range of issues including withdrawal of care, death in custody, mental health, deprivation of liberty, medically assisted dying, Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR) and employment.
