Practitioner Performance Advice launches latest Insights paper on action plans

Date published:

Our Practitioner Performance Advice service has today published its latest Insights paper: Professional Support and Remediation (PSR): key features of recent action plans which aims to raise awareness of how the PSR service can help frontline NHS organisations retain valued, experienced practitioners who need targeted support to deliver sustained effective practice. This publication is aimed at medical directors, senior clinical managers, human resource professionals, as well as healthcare practitioners.

Our action plans are bespoke tailored programmes of activities with objectives, designed to address the individual development needs of practitioners within their specific role and context. From our in-depth review of all action plans produced between April 2020 and March 2022, we found that improving clinical skills and communication with colleagues and patients were the two most featured objectives.

The PSR service, alongside many other specialist services delivered by Practitioner Performance Advice, is provided at no cost to employing or contracting bodies in England. To find out more about our PSR service, please refer to our online guidance on action plans, or contact us directly at nhsr.psr@nhs.net or call us on 020 7811 2600.

You can access other publications in our Insights series which cover a wide range of subjects from behavioural assessments to Healthcare Professional Alert Notices (HPANs). To find out more about our other services and resources, please visit our website.
