On 20 April we welcomed eight Associate Advisers to the Practitioner Performance Advice team. This small cohort of experts will give us additional capacity to be able to deliver our growing team review service. They bring a broad array of knowledge and skills from across the NHS healthcare environment. As such, they will invaluable to the development of the service.
The service offers two independent neutral facilitators who work with participants from a team where there are issues of concern to understand and find a way to deal with the difficulties that are adversely affecting professional relationships. It is part of a suite of specialist interventions supported by the Practitioner Performance Advice assessment and remediation function.
Our team reviews span a range of specialties but in particular we want to build on our reputation as a trusted partner in the maternity healthcare system, bringing together key parties to see what more can be done to work with multi-disciplinary teams to improve maternity outcomes. This aligns with the third priority in our Strategy to 2025, namely ‘Collaborate to improve maternity outcomes’. As part of this undertaking, we aim to build on our reputation as a trusted partner in the maternity healthcare system, by bringing together key parties to see what more can be done to support the government’s maternity safety ambition to halve rates of stillbirth, neonatal and maternal death and brain injuries that occur during or shortly after birth by 2025.
You can find out more about our team review service on our website, including watching a short animated presentation and accessing a case study.
Meanwhile, we look forward to using our Associate Advisers’ unique insights to inform and develop the niche, and growing, area of our team reviews work.
